Duke Community Page Template

While I was working at Duke Community Affairs our team was asked to create a template that could be used by Duke academic units to publicize their outreach to the community, including community-based work-study opportunities for students interested in working with nonprofit organizations in Durham.

In order to produce a template that could be used by virtually any academic unit I did the following:

  • Designed the template to easily omit or include whole sections

  • Created sections that could hold varying amounts of content, with or without images depending on the organization’s assets

  • Designed an introductory section flexible enough to accommodate organizations with and without logos and with or without their own websites

  • Created a sidebar to help users navigate pages with long content

  • Used Duke’s brand colors

Below is a detailed view with my notes on the right. If the image is slow to load, scroll down to make it appear.
