Illustrations for a Children’s Book
I had the pleasure of working with the wonderful author Carol Shain on her book Oona, Nana and Robert Henry, which tells the story of her relationship with one of her granddaughters. When Oona was young, Carol invented a character named Robert Henry—a mischievous boy who lived in a large pink Victorian house with his very proper family.
Over the years, Carol entertained Oona with stories about Robert Henry. Eventually, the fictional world she created began to intertwine with their real-life experiences.
For the book, I created six illustrations using paper, ink, and watercolor. I prepared the artwork for print using Photoshop, designed the book layout, and coordinated printing through Lulu Press.
